    Unanswered: Master database restore

    Can anybody help me how to restore master databse in MSQL&

    exactly... it involves things like recreating the drive setup, recreating the databases (to get the datafiles there so you don't get wierd errors), starting SQL Server up in single user mode (with -m passed as an argument) and then restoring

    Books Online is the best guide to it

    Thanks for your help. I started server in single user mode with -c -m option and tried to load from enterprise manager. I got an error as connection broke after that I cannot start my server it says no server with that name exist.

    How would I get my DTS packages back? Are they stored in master database or any system files. Pls help me.

    dts packages are stored in msdb in sysdtspackages. You can just copy the rows to another server.

    Safer and easier to save dts packages as files and run them from there.

    Thanks for your help. Is it any thing I need to do after I load msdb in order to get all my DTS packages .
