The company I work for has asked whether I can configure Windows Server 2003 to manage Microsoft Access 97 replica sets (jet replication 3.5). I have informed them that it could be very difficult to do this, but they've insisted that we try it. We have many people out in the field synchronizing databases under this technology. Currently we run this replication under NT Server 4.0 with the Option Pack (IIS) and ODE Tools (with the Replication Manager). However, we are worried about security and support. Can anyone recommend a course of action? Currently we receive the dreaded "Internet Is Very Slow" message (Q222150) when trying to synchronize over the internet (not on the LAN though).
