    Unanswered: OMS(Oracle Management Server).

    Hi there,
I want to use the Backup, Inport, Export Wizards in Oracle but it said that I must connect to OMS. I have tried but still can not connect to Oracle as an OMS. Pls tell me clearly how to do this.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi,

Oracle Management Server has to be installed and configured before u connect to it. Please verify it's existence and configuration before trying again.
For import and export u can also use the command line.

    Hope this helps

You'll have to setup a repository for it, using enterprise manager config tool(in prog files).
You can do it in a seperate db or in the existing db.

Having done that. You need to have the oms service/process running.

Then you can log on to it.

    sysman/oem_temp.

    So set it up first.
    Hope that helped...

Try starting up the console(oem) and logon with the sysman/password (oem_temp) is the firsttime pwd which propmts you to change it.

and how can I configure it so that I can use the Backup wizards?
    see my above post.
    Hope that helped...
