    Unanswered: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

    When I am trying to create a trigger I am getting the above problem,
    can some help me to resolve this

    connect to oracle again
    connect <username>/<password>@<database-name>.com
    end of file comes when u get disconnected from database and u have to connect again....

    hi,

    an end-of-file-on-communication-channel error mostly occurs for a special reason. It's not like you disconnected your session in SQL*Plus and try to create a trigger. Mostly is that you have a connection and while creating a db-object, an error occurs that makes oracle disconnect you.
    Try to find out why. Check the alert.log for special trace files and check them and with further questions, post those questions here pls.

    I ran into this with our backup/test server. Usually it happened when we were running an un-optimized (read big & slow) query which would either push the memory, the results, or the CPU to 110% of what was expected. About the only way to solve the problem was a restart of the DB.

    I have closed some of the application and run the sql it went on fine.
