Unanswered: Running in a Novell Network

I have to install a SQL Server based solution into a Novell Netware network environment. My SQL Server will be running on a machine running Windows Server 2003. Should I expect any difficulties in integrating it into the Novell network. I have never used Novell so I don't know what to expect.

Any help would be very appreciated.

you can integrate a SQL Server into almost any environment as long as the network supports the connection protocols that you want to use.

Most LANs today are going to be running TCP/IP on the workstations, and even if your environment is running IPX/SPX that shouldn't be a problem either, seeing that SQL Server supports IPX. Your main concern should be what network protocols do the workstations run.

That SQL Server is just going to be a service listening on a certain address, whether it be TCP/IP or IPX, it doesn't have to be part of a Windows Domain and doesn't even have to have the Novell Netware client installed, although you would have to add IPX as a protocol if you intend to use that to connect to the server.

hope that eases your fears a little
