    Unanswered: Sybase 12.5 Installation Problems

I have been trying to install Sybase 12.5 on my linux machine, and I have not been successful. Whenever the dataserver program runs, I get 'current process (x) infected with 11' errors. These errors continue infinitely, at a rate of about 80 per second.

    dbserver.log http://cloud13.com/sybase/dbserver.log
    interfaces http://cloud13.com/sybase/interfaces
    srvbuild http://cloud13.com/sybase/srvbuild

I tried installing sybase on Redhat 7.2, Redhat 9, and Mandrake 9, and I followed all the instructions in the installation pdf.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or what my problem is ?

    Machine Specs:
    192mb Ram, K6 300, 5gb hard drive

    Try:
    # ipcs -lm

    ---Shared Memory Limits ---
max number of segments = 1024
min seg size (bytes) = 1
max total shared memory (kbytes) = NNN
min seg size (bytes) = 1

You need enough shared memory for statup the databases.
If not, you must change the shmmax for linux.
    Bye bye

    shmmax

I already did shmmax, and i even doubled the amount suggested by the manual. This is the output of ipcs -lm

    ------ Shared Memory Limits --------
max number of segments = 4096
max seg size (kbytes) = 1048576
max total shared memory (kbytes) = 8388608
min seg size (bytes) = 1
