    Unanswered: Open Database in editable mode

    Can anyone help please?

    We have a phenomenal amount of databases that are used within the department and i'm currently working on a sort of Control Panel or Shortcut bar. It is a form with buttons to open all of the other databases so only one shortcut is needed instead of hundreds

    I have the form set up and each button opens a different database. What i would like to do is have the option of opening a database in edit mode.

    I'm using the shell function to open the databases. I have played with the CreateObject function to try it that way but am having no luck.

    I would like to at least make the Database Window visible if i can't open the Startup form in design mode.

    Please help!

    I used the following code (ADO-Access2000) and got a database window to open with a form in design mode:

    Dim appAccess As Access.Application
    Set appAccess = CreateObject("Access.Application")
    appAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase "PathToYourDatabase"
    appAccess.DoCmd.OpenForm "YourFormName", acDesign
    appAccess.Visible = True
    Set appAccess = Nothing
    All code ADO/ADOX unless otherwise specified.
