Unanswered: Oracle9i Install to Win2k fails !! Help!!

    Hello

I have the follwing problem when installing the application server to a win2k (sp3orsp4) server.

    )))" @"E:\ora9ias\hoc4j/portal/admin/plsql/wwd/rwaddpag.sql"
    Process destroyed
    Process err
    Process out
    Action queue failedoracle.ifs.utils.common.ProcessDestroyedExce ption
    Error executing : rwaddpag.sql
    Reports registration failed
    Starting EM integration

I have seen a post elswhere that advises to shorten the "host" name in the connect string within the repca_params.properties file which I have also tried but it still fails. I try a retry and I get:-

Process out -- Registering Reports Provider --
    ERROR: Registering Reports Provider
ERROR: Reports Page could not be created

Then through the Ent. management web interface I get the service show as down.

Anyone any ideas as Oracle themselves cannot provide an answer as yet?

    I think you're talking about 9iAS.

Anyways make sure that you don't have that sp4 on windows(boy, how I've hated it...)

Do an uninstall..clean if you can thru the OUI.

    or dirty by
    removing all the directories
removing reg entries in software and services.

    Re-install.
    Hope that helped...

Edwin: No Idea, But I'm glad that I did that on my local machine before the SA's could plan up for the whole sp4 patchup. There was this issue of logon taking more than half hour before you could logon. The SA's later were also able to conclude on the basis of collected facts from the msoft that it "may" cause the logon issues. I moved back to the sp3 and could log on again normally.

As for you tcawte, did you do re-install? No old stuff hanging on the registry?

    I've done it on a Win2K/sp3 without any prob's.
    Hope that helped...

are you kidding !! the registry is littered with junk when you un-install.

needless to say I have re-built the server 3 times from scratch. I have an ora. engineer baffled too.

Can understand it everything seems fine except the reports component???

Well getting software installed is a piece of cake. Wonder what the oracle engineer can do there?
Run a config tool to gather all possible info of your os.
    Hope that helped...

Yes installing software is normally straight forward. Perhaps it is a hardware issue I dont know.

I wouldnt have posted this if it was that straightforward.
