    Unanswered: retrieving data file

    Hi,
I jus' accidently deleted a data file data01.dbf from a tablespace and now my database wouldn't open up...it jus' mounts.
I've a backup of the files but when I copy the datafile data01.dbf back to its directory 'n try to run the recovery command it doesn't work...it gives me the error for Wrong incarnation or wrong SCN...
its totally messed up.Help needed. Thanx.
    Keep the faith,
    Pooja

You'll have to perform a TSPITR as quite clearly it won't be upto that scn of the datafile dropped/deleted.

Check the rman documentation for tspitr.
    Hope that helped...

    Hi tarry,
well, the wrong scn error was because I jus' realized it wasn't the backup of my database...if I don't have a backup of my database I guess I sure wudn't be able to retrieve the datafile w/o backup or w/o retrieving my file from the network using the TSPITR....
    no probs.
    thank you,
    Pooja
