Unanswered: Report Problem, Novice user, Help DESPERATELY needed
Greetings, this is my problem:
I have a MS Access 2000 Database with the following tables.
I have just one form, Quote Form.
I have just one Report, Quote Report.
Now on the Quote form, I have places that allow you to select values from all 4 tables.
Once complied, they make a price quotation, that needs to be printed/emailed/faxed. (I can handle the email/fax part).
My problem is, I cannot figure out how to transfer the various data from the form to the report, which must be
laid out like a business letter for printing.
(IE: No combo boxes, list boxes, no borders around text boxes, clean business letter type).
I see several ways to solve this problem.
1: Set each report text box to equal the current value(current record) of the main form, but I cannot figure out how.
2: Using VBA code, populate each textbox in the report with the current values, but if I add ANY code, it crashes out, telling me there is an error in the code, EVEN COMMENT lines give me this!
3: Output the data, and the formatting needed (company address, sig block, etc), to html and open a browswer.
Again, I am unable to add any CODE at all, it simply tells me the code is bad, and points to the first line of code, even if its a comment line.
Anyone know how I would solve this problem?
