    Unanswered: corrupt log device

I'm new to sybase; sysadmin found os corruption on a raw partition belonging to a log device for a user database. What are my options? Can I 1) add a new log device for that database and drop the old one? or do I 2) need to drop, recreate, and load the database? If I need to take option 2, would it work if I drop the database, then sysadmin recreates the physical file in the same location, then I reload database?
    Thanks!

    I'd go with Option 2.

Just make sure that the corruption is not due to hardware faults.

The corruption is due to hardware faults. We want to move the logfile to another disk.
