Question Unanswered: Simple ODBC Connection ~ Help needed

    Hi,

This is the first time I've had to use Sybase and I've been given a task to set up a simple ODBC connection to one of our servers that is accross a WAN. I've set up ODBC's hundreds of times for different databases, yet I can't seen to get the Sybase one working. I'm using the ODBC DirectConnect drivers. If I can ping the server by address or WINS name, then I should be able to set this up, right? I check the actual server's ODBC and it uses something called Adaptive Server Anywhere 6 drivers. Couldn't find it, could only find the DirectConnect.
What would the service name be and do I need to connect to an open port or something? I just get a failed to connect error.

This might seem trivial but I need assitance...thanks,

    ~D

I have a suspicion that you might be using Data Direct drivers for ASE and not ASA.

ASA comes bundled with it's own drivers in the CD kit.

I think you're right. Thanks and I'll look into it....
