Question Unanswered: Merging databases/Copying Structure into existing database

I posted this in another forum, but I think it was the one. Could anyone assist with this?

I am trying to merge two databases. I have a tool to get the data and put it into the other database correctly, but I do not know how to get the structure of the database through vb. I would prefer getting the structure through vb instead of using enterprise manager for this.

Have you tried VSS (Visual Source Safe) for this task?
Script the two databases and than put VSS to show the differences.
Where you have differences, create the appropriate script to create the desired modifications, and that's it.

If you want to get the structure of the databases through VB by all means, try using DMO.

    Best regards!

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the idea. I didn't think about doing a file compare. I had been suggested by a collegue that I just run the script and see what errors pop up.

    Yours was much better.
