Unanswered: i feel stupid... any help?

ok, the situation is this. i'm using a mySQL server, with MS access as the front end.. i just need to do simple record adding and display..

what do i have to do to make the command buttons in access run an SQL command? if i try to change the 'on click' of the button, it shuffles me over into VB. i know you can run SQL commands from VB, but i took that course 5 years ago and never used it so i can't remember.

    any help?
