    Unanswered: wrong jdk_path

I have Installed FixPack3 for DB2 V8.1 on Red Hat Linux.
Using control center, when I want to create a TOOLS CATALOG, I have an error saying that the parameter jdk_path is not set correctly.
I saw that this parameter is set on /opt/IBMJava2-131 but this don't exist on my DB2 machine.
I could be possible that was removed by the FixPack?

Is there any Java version on your machine, such as 1.4? If so you can change the path with:

    db2 update dbm cfg using JDK_PATH /opt/IBMJava2-14

if you don't have any Java, then you can download it from the IBM website.

Yes, I have a j2sdk1.4.2 on my machine. But should I point to its contained "jre" directory or simply to the root /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2?

For the DB2 command I think it is just /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2

I wonder about using the non-IBM Java for DB2 (if that is what you have). I know it should work, but who knows?
