Some times we get this error. Currently we shut down and re start the database.
What is teh best way to find out the cause of this error, which process, user has caused it.
Is there any query whcih can be sued to figure out its cause.

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 2
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4256 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","select type#,blocks,extents,...","sga heap","library cache

the cause is that another amount of memory is needed for a special process, which can not be allocated, meaning that the SGA is not large enough. Increase the size of the SGA to prevent these problems.
Try to locate the trace file generated for this error. This will tell u details about the session.

    Hope this helps.
