Exclamation Unanswered: Text Editor for Databases

using Oracle forms as front end is it possible to use a text editor/word processor which supports functions like bold/highlight/fonts/Drawings and store the data in the database either as formatted text or in a file format as a binary file( ex pdf or html)

if this is possible what are the possible word processor tools which can be used on Unix Based systems.

    hi,

using oracle forms as the front end, you can make use Microsoft word using OLE. In this way you can use the wordprocessor to create text documents, but when u store it as a textstring in an Oracle database all this like highlighting bold etc are lost. U have create the document it self and store the document in Oracle database, or create a pdf of it and store the pdf in oracle.
I know of no editor on unix based systems, but then again, i am only windows based.

    Hope that helps
