I would like to get good performance with my C++ program which uses ODBC to connect to a Excel Database having 1 table but as many as 10K rows and about 4-5 columns.
any idea how ? Do i need to Tweak the ODBC .INI file in the Registry ?
I am using Win 2k , office 2000 Setup.
My database query is quiet simple: There is only 1 table, 4 columns, 10K rows. The first Col stores the ID, the 2nd...3 4th some string values related to ID. There are 10K such rows.
My SQL stmt is as follows.
SELECT * FROM * WHERE ID = 1 OR ID = 2....OR ID = 1000 ORDER BY ID.
There are no JOINS atall. The query is simple but bulky. Each query has about 100 ID values that I need to look for in any of the rows of the table, and return the value in the other corresponding columns of the same row. If the ID is not present in the table, then return NONE.
I am able to acheive this, but my performance is not so good. To search for 500 ID values, it takes about 1 sec.
