Unanswered: db backup to network drive - not working...

    I have:
    1. mapped a network drive to H:

    2. created a sample file to verify access to H:

    3. deleted sample file

    4. created a backup device "test" using the UFL format ie \\machine\yada\yada\test (same as used in 1 above)

    5. get "anable to verify existance of backup file location..." message

    6. log states "...failed to create. Operating system error = 5(Access is denied.)"

    7. admin states the drive has total access to company - no security

does anyone know what might be the issue?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Check Your authentication mode.See the services running on your Server. Check the MSSQLSERVER service. Use This account option with proper logins. Re start your server. I think this will solve your problem
