Post Unanswered: IDS Multiple servers configuration

    Hello,

I have installed informix IDS on AIX.

I want to use 2 databases, say DB1 and DB2.
I want two informix server on the same machine, say SERV1 and SERV2.

I want thant each server "sees" only one database.
    SERV1 accesses DB1 and cannot access DB2
    SERV2 accesses DB2 and cannot access DB1

    Is this possible?

How should I configure my different files?

    Thanks.

    Well....

You will need one $ONCONFIG file per server,
    onconfig.SERV1
    onconfig.SERV2

In these ONCONFIG files you have to make sure your ROOTPATH points to different devices. Same for the DBSERVERNUM. you need different numbers for the two servers.

In these servers you create your database.

You will have a 'common' sqlhosts' file; Probably containing two lines per server, one shm, and one tcp. you will need two lines in your /etc/services file. You need to configure two ports, on efor each server.
