    Post Unanswered: after_update for combo box help

    Greetings and proper salutations,

    I have a combo box that a person can choose four values from,

    Submitted, Acknowledged, In Progress and Completed.

    I would like to update a checkbox [closed issue] with "true" when the value "completed" is chosen from the combo box. If any other value is selected, I don't want anything to happen.

    Did that make sense?!

    Many thanks in advance for your time...

    Mitch!

    assumptions:
    myCheck: the checkbox
    myCombo: the combo with values:
    1: "something"
    2: "something else"
    3: "another something else"
    4: "Completed"

    private sub myCombo_afterupdate()
    if mycombo.value = 4 then myCheck.value = true
    exit sub

    Thanks, Izy. Here's what I tried;

    Private Sub Combo551_AfterUpdate()
    If [Status] = "Completed" Then [Closed Issue].Value = True
    End Sub

    the combo box selects from a table called STATUS and feeds the selection into a field called STATUS. (fancy that!)

    the table STATUS has one field with four entries, no autonumber

    how far off am I ?!

    Thanks again
