    Unanswered: Urgent ::problem Of Starting The Database

    Dear Sir
    Yesterday I shutdown the database by abort option
    Then when I m restarting it after complete os shutdown the os HP-Unix 9000 i get the following output

    Till now it is running i.e. 20:00:00 oct 23 2003.
    When i have seen the the following command

    It sounds like you have multiple instances on the machine ... The database is attached to another instance....

    Try shutdown immediate ....

    ensure you have your ORACLE_SID set

    svrmgrl> startup pfile=......
