Thumbs down Unanswered: Combo Box and VB 6.0

    hey,

I want a combo box that doesn't contain any drop-down arrow button (like simple combo) as well as the user can't enter his own text but by pressing the <Enter> key, the drop-down of the combo box shows up and the user can only then select the item wanted or reqd.
Can anybody help me to do this!

    Amit

Why not just use a list box ?

no text can be entered, you can select a single or multiple items

you can even have checkbox list box

    Well,

it's good idea but i want a simple text box and then when user presses the <Enter> key, the combobox pops down, shows off some selection text and once selection confirmed by the user, the drop down hides.

I found a hint by sending Combobox CB_DROPDOWN message but don't know how to use it with custom user controls. Please Help!
