    Unanswered: sp_resolve_logins - Log Shipping,

    Hi,

I am setting up log shipping for our SQL 2k (Enterprise Edition) servers here, using SQL 2k's inbuilt log shipping process (which is quite flimsy/frustrating at the moment, seems like it was tacked on), anyways,

Everything so far works, log shipping, alarming and database failover however, when it comes to users/logins, what does sp_resolve_logins actually do?

I have followed MS' guidelines, I have,
    - Transfer Logins task, which works, logins have been transferred
    - BCP out of master..syslogins table (the bcp outputted file is binary, is that right?)

However, when I run sp_resolve_logins, I can't see what it is doing.
    - It doesn't seem to modify any SIDs on the new primary database
    - It doesn't seem associate the SQL logins with the relevant database users

So, do I need to run sp_change_users_login to associate the database user, with the SQL Login?

    Okay,

This has been resovled. Apparently there is a bug with sp_resolve_logins, see Knowledge Base Article, 310882, which btw, has fixed my problem.

    That'll learn me!
