    Unanswered: Data Checking

    Hello all

I am just wondering if there is a general strategy for checking the integrity of data returned by executing a moderately complex sql select command which amalgamates data from 5 different tables.

Like what is the general steps that is followed through to check data if there is one at all.

    Cheers

Documented, thorough and complete test cases prior to moving the code into production; where every "boundary condition" is exercised.

Or do you follow the -

    Ready, Fire, Aim.
    Repeat as necessary.

    software development philosophy?

    Hi,

Range testing, boundary testing, exception testing. Black box, white box etc. It's a study in it's own right and way beyond the scope of a forum response. Maybe there's more detailed stuff on Google or somewhere.

    Cheers
