My first post here, so I hope I don't flout any of your forum conventions! If so, slap me on the wrist and I'll know for next time!

I have 100+ source excel files from which I want to import on summary row from each into a central consolidated excel file.

I am using:

Do Until i = (x_num_files + 1)

x_filename = x_name & Trim(Str(i))

'col a
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = x_filedir & x_filename & ").xls]Summary'!R2C1"

'Go to column b
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Select

'Col B
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = x_filedir & x_filename & ").xls]Summary!R2C2"

'Go to column c
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Select

This is all working fine.... except cells where a lot of text is being imported - a cell with 448 characters (incl spaces) in the source is only showing up with 254 characters (incl spaces)...

(1) How do I get around the 255 space limitation using this method?

(2) Can anyone suggest a better way of importing these rows from numerous source files into one consolidate file?

Thanks in advance,
