    Unanswered: Recovering old backups

I want to recover an older whole backup.

I'm using Veritas netbackup with informix 7.3

    Exemple:

every night there is a whole backup
    we are Monday
I want to recover the Saturday backup

how can I instruct onbar to do this?

    Hi,

Test from the line of commando with "onbar --"
For example: onbar -r -t "dates Time" or
    onbar - r -l -n <number of logical logs>.
The information this is $INFORMIXDIR/etc/.ixbar.SERVERNUM and
    configuration in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/oncfg_$INFORMIXSERVER_SERVERNUM

    Gustavo.

yes, I tought of that one, I will test it out.

But what about invalidating the Sunday backup within the onbar tables?

I guest that onbar rely on this info for recovering, so if the Sunday backup was mark invalid it should try to get the Saturday one.

Is there another place that onbar keeps info about the valid/invalid backups?

    What do you think...?

    Yes, in the database sysutils.
Now, test in the log file for the back-up finish OK or not.
The back-up must be level 0.
