Unanswered: Automatically creating new record in related file

This may be a really dumb question, but I've got to ask. The scenario:

Essentially, there are two databases, one is Companies and the other Orders, I have a relationship between the Company on the Companies file and the Company on the Orders file. Also, I've established lookups for all information connected with the Company (address, contact, phone #, etc). My related file is in Companies and Master file is Orders.

My question is, how can I enter a new company and its info into the Orders file (my master file) and have FileMaker create a New record in the related file (Companies). I've checked the box in Define Relationships dialog box that says "allow entry in related field" or something, but that doesn't work.

I'd really appreciate the help. thanks a ton...

You can use a portal to enter a new row in your slave table
or a simple script that create a new related record by using a global field
