    Unanswered: database size

    we are in a retail business with a very large databases, currently we are using AS400 iSeries as our server, can you please give us advice if is it okay to use PostGre or mySQL as a database server, or if you can suggest other open source database. Thanks

    If you are workig with large databases use postgres.
    I would not take the risk to use mysql.

    I know production systems with 2 TB of data in postgresql.

    Just curious - why you wouldn't trust a large DB to MySQL?

    MySQL also has multi-TB installations.

    I don't want to start a flame session, just wondering why you said that.
