    Unanswered: DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet Error !!!!

    Private Sub CmdImport_Click()
    Dim fileName As String

    fileName = "Importme.xls"

    DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, 3, _
    "NewTbl", "C:\Documents and Settings\Slacker\Desktop\" & fileName, True, "A1:j21"

    End Sub

    This always gives me Runtime error '3274'
    External table is not in the expected format.

    WHAT IS THE EXPECTED FORMAT? How can i bring in this data, whats going on here ?

    The 3 acSpreadsheetTypeLotusWK3
    means you want to import LotusSpreadsheet

    but you want to import EXCEL so use the constatnt acSpreadsheetTypeExcel97 or 8 if you use Excel 97
