    Wink Unanswered: LONG datatype???

    Hi there,
I have inserted data into a LONG datatype in my table but when i select the data to view it i only get a short string instead of the lond string that i put into the column. How can i determine whether all the string has gone into the LONG datatype or not? Can i download it to a file from Oracle or something??
    Any help greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Rho

The LONG data type is obsolete.
Why are you using a datatype that you don't know how use properly?

    Re: LONG datatype???

Try to convert Your LONG column into a CLOB column and use the DBMS_LOB package to get the string.
