Unhappy Unanswered: Slow FE / BE

Our database is slowing down badly.
We have a 54mb Access 2000 database containing about 250000 records at the moment. (been operational for 6 months)
It has 8 users linked thru' small business server 2000, and using 2 G Pentium 4 Desktops.

Do you guys have any ideas for getting this thing working faster?

    Thanks in advance!

Did you compact and repair it? Is your database design efficient? How about your network/access path? Fast enough?

    Montana,

Access 2k has a bug: After the first client has created the .LDB file, the other will spend more time to do so.

    You should visit http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performancefaq.htm

It explains how to solve this and other perfomance´s problems.

If you have more trouble after reading that information, contact me, and I´ll try to give you more help

    Bye
