    Post Unanswered: Scan and seek

    CAn any body please tell me what are the differences between scan and seek?Which is the better way?From the query execution plan how can I get a picture about these?

    In couple words:

    Scan (table or index) means that table is small or condition for selecting cannot use indexes if any.

    Seek (index) means that index is used for selecting rows from table.

    It needs to avoid of scaning big tables (indexes).
