    Unanswered: suggestion needed in designing of table

    working on online auction, i have developed a table named aution in which i have added all the fields related to item for auction and auction info like its start date end date etc, do i seperate the solely item info from auction info or is it ok to keep dem together heres the table

    auctionID
    itemName
    category
    description
    imageURL
    quantity
    condition
    startPrice
    ReservedPrice
    IncrementPrice
    paymentMode
    startDate
    endDate
    auctionState
    userId

    Hi,

    Its always better to have Normalised tables. So divide them into 2 tables, Item_info & Auction_info. You would avoid Data redudancy by doing this.

    there is as such no redundancy, as u can see above, everything will be sort of unique ans related to that particular row
