Hi, I'm trying to create(restore) Oracle DB with few tablespaces.
Is taht possible on 8.1.7.4 not to include in create controlfile all datafiles from base database.
The database is huge 500Gb and I can not afford run export, and the only way is restore from hot backup, and I'm trying to do that, but not the whole thing, just few base tablespaces, so what I did I restored SYSTEM, and two other data Tablespaces(I mean the databse files for them) to test server, modified the creat control file to include only those datafiles, but when I'm running it is returning:
@create_ctrl.sql
CREATE CONTROLFILE set DATABASE "TRIADD" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOG
*
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-00059: maximum number of DB_FILES exceeded
ORA-01110: data file 172: '/sdb01/oradata/TriadD/data01_12.dbf'
SVRMGR>
and DB_FILES is set to 500 , so it should not complain cause there is inly 20 datafiles.
Anyone can help?
