If you have a database server say sunbox1 and you wanted to use the utl_file package to create an output file. But you want to output to a directory on a different server say sunbox2?

Is it possible to do this, if so would you just hard code the network path of the second server in to the UTL_FILE_DIR path on the first?

Get your System admin to create an NFS mount from machine A as a directory mount upon machine B.

The new mount is effectively local to machine B and can be referred to easily using standard referencing.
