    Unanswered: raw

    hi to all

    how to create tablespace on raw devie.
    we are using db2 on linux.
    db2 version 7.2 linux 6.2
    i want to create table space on /dev/raw/raw1.

    while creating data base on above location i got error message.
    that messges are

    create tablespace kalatab managed by database using (device '/dev/raw/raw2' 20480)
    DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
    valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
    SQL0298N Bad container path. SQLSTATE=428B2

    Hi,

    what distribution & version of Linux are you on? I believe just newer kernel releases allow for the creation of raw devices.

    DB2's first error message implies there is just no such container like the one you mentioned.
