    Does no-one read the doco?

This is my first week here and I really gotta ask.... does anyone read the basic help/doco that comes with products any more?

In the case of MS SQL does no one real the Books on Line that come with the product, with ASP/VB.Net/C# don't people visit MSDN and try and find examples and solutions before they start screaming for help?

I guess it is human nature. Just like electricity, follow the path of least resistance.

    Cool

Human nature - "I want it now! I want someone to supply it for me! And I don't want to have to expend the effort to find out for myself!"

Perhaps a good cure is to have everyone learn programs like I did: Fortran IV on an IBM 360 with card reader, and over-night batch processing. Talk about responsive!!

See, now if it was human nature, wouldn't we all be doing it?

When you're as old as me, then human nature is a faint memory!

definately,... I work on a policy of trying to help myself first... BOL, then some web searching, and or other books that I have about the place...

After that if I am still stuck then I start asking others... unless I know someone that I am sure has encountered the problem before....
