    Unanswered: rebuild a db

    Hello there,
i hope someone could help a new db oracle administrator...
So after a crash of the system we lost the disk containing the oracle home and this forced us to reonstall oracle.
So i have all the system files, parameter file, redo logs, control files of the old db and i wish to know how i can rebuild the old situation.
Oracle version 8.1.7 on Windows 2000.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Fabio

just reinstall oracle to the same directory,
make sure your init.ora is available anywhere and points to the correct control.files
use ORADIM to create a new service using this init.ora

    HI,
could you please check if this is correct?
oradim -NEW -SID tsfdf -PFILE pathtoinit.ora

Should i do other commands ? or this is enough to rebuild the old situation?
Thansk so much for your help.

sorry, I can't help you in this situation as I am not too familiar with oracle on Win.
but it looks ok to me, just read the docs or test it.
It doesn't seem you can breake anything using oradim
