    Unanswered: Object permissions after restore

I had to restore one of our dbs to another server. Windows authentication is used to authenticate users to the server, & they currently belong to a 'Staff' builtin group.

The SQL server does not have an account for BUILTIN\Staff.
The restored db has a a user called 'SERVER1\Staff', but under login name, '<none>' is specified.

We are using single workgroup at present.

I have assigned object permissions to the SERVER1\Staff group on the existing server.

The new server has the exact same name & group created.

How can I modify the login name for the existing group on the new server, so that instead of it having <none>, it correctly maps to the user group?

    Re: Object permissions after restore

After restore, drop all the users in sysusers and grant access to the users in the new server.

By doing this I have to reset all object permissions though.

By executing sp_helpuser I get the following:

    UserName
    SERVER1\Staff

    GroupName
    public

    LoginName
    NULL

I basically need to modify the LoginName field to include my login. However, I suspect simply modifying the system tables will cause me trouble...
