Unanswered: Create Materialized view of Materialized views

    Hi,

I am using DB2 V8.1 on Linux. I have a number of materialized views created on a number of base tables. Is it possible to create another materialized view from the existing materialized views? Thank you.

    Cheers,

You can create a view on a another view, a base table, or a nickname. Views are not materialized, unless you are talking about something that I don't know about.

    Hi,

you can create MQTs (Materialized Query Tables, the former Automated Summary Tables) on base tables only.

MQTs are DB2's equivalent of materialized views.
