Smile Unanswered: How to stop scrolling through records?

    NEW TO THIS!
On a form that I am using for dataentry for users, if a person is in a record and they hit the scroll on the mouse, it will advance to the next record and automatically save the information put in the record.

I don't want that to happen.

How do I make the scroll feature not work when in a record on the form? And how can I force the user to hit save ir cancel before exiting the form?

    Thank you.

Thumbs up Re: How to stop scrolling through records?

Read and follow instructions in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 278379 (ACC2000: How to Detect and Prevent the Mouse Wheel from Scrolling Through Records in a Form).

Do it by creating the MouseWheel Event by Using a Visual Basic ActiveX DLL and it will be 100% reliable. If you do it by creating the MouseWheel Event Completely Within Microsoft Access you will have serious bugs - I don't reccomend!

If you will have problems with creating MouseWheel.dll, I can send it to you.
