    Unanswered: Sorting out an Order by scripts

    At present Im having a nightmare

    I have 9 fields which are laid out as a list

    What Im trying to do is create a script that sorts the info
    so when i click the button it puts it into order of A-z or in a no 1-30 (dates)

    A-Z Order

    I haev tried
    Sort
    Set field "A-Z)

    And it dosent work

    Can any body please help me I have sent hours trying to sort out why it not working

    I know its to mind blowing File Maker but im new it all and this is my first one

    First set your sorting options for your table by using the memu > records > sort function. Set this up to sort in the manner you desire, and run the sort. Then create your script to run this operation. Make sure that when you are prompted to 'keep' or 'replace' the current method (I forget want the exact statement is), that you 'keep'. Assign a button to run this script and your there. Note that you can sort only as provided in the menu option.

    My main problem is that the script I have wrote dosent work
    it keeps coming up with "invaild request

    So thats my problem sorting out a script that works

    Your probably asking the script to do something it doesn't understand or can't do (invalid step). Could you provide me with the script?

    I've done it....

    It was so simple I just dont belive it

    When I went to sort and created the sort when went done

    when created the script by going down the list in scripts to sort


    wicked its all working like a dream Im so....happy
