Question Unanswered: How to log the users of my Server?

    Hi,

I'm looking for a way to log all the users that log into my Sybase ASE (12.5.0.1) during a certain period of time.

Most of all I'd like to know their ip-address, so I can see if anyone that is not authorised, but got hold of passwords anyway, tries to connect to the Sybase server.

    Thanks.

    P!

You can use Login Trigger feature in conjunction sp_client_addr and knock off logins that you don't like.

    1> sp_client_addr
    2> go
    spid hostname ipaddr

Use the global audit option "login/logout" and query out from sysaudits table. Also do not forget to take care of housekeeping of audit databases.

The fire triggers only comes with ASE 12.0

    Available since 11.9
    Code:
exec sp_configure "audit logon success", true
exec sp_configure "audit logon failure", true
Available since versions 10 : audit
