I have some Perl code on our mail & db server that does some housekeeping whenever we sign up a new client. I'd like to have this code triggered from Access, as most of the rest of the stuff happens in there.
So I plan on putting the Perl code into my cgi-bin directory, and calling it from Access, with some variables in the request string.
Trouble is, I can't find any documentation on making http requests from inside Access. I did find the following: http://www.vbip.com/winsock/winsock_http_01.asp which uses the Microsoft Winsock control, and is kinda what I want, but too low-level.
Is there anything a little more coder friendly?
I basically just want to send an http request, and receive a plain-text response, which will either be SUCCESSFULL or FAILED, or something like that.
