Arrow Unanswered: Sql Server Connectivity from Client to SERVER

    Hai,

I am often getting the message

"SQL Server does not exist or access denied (Connection Open (Connect())"

when connecting from the client sql 2000 to the server and at sometimes it gets connected and it still exists/persists for some time.

though i checked the user rights, client server network utility where tcp/ip is the first protocol.

Give a (me) way to connect to the server, though the user iam trying to connect works in the Query Analyser in the Server

    here,

What client tools are failing (enterprise manager, query analyzer) ? Also, what is your network configuration (are you going through a firewall) ? And what is the pattern of the connection loss - does it happen during high traffic, or when the server's resources are maxed ... ?

Do you have access to the server as a sysadmin - using a remote connection like vnc or terminal services ?
