Unanswered: Identity columns in partitioned databases on AIX

I am using DB2 V 8.1 on AIX. Can any of you tell me whether identity columns are now allowed for partitioned databases for DB2 on AIX in the latest fixpaks?
Is there any documentation in IBM site regarding this?
And if identity columns are permitted, can they be used as partitioning keys ?

The manual explicitly states that "IDENTITY column attributes are not supported in a database with more than one partition".

    Hope this helps.

"It does not work" is not a valid problem statement.

which manual ? can you please provide me the link ?
I was under the impression that identity columns are not supported in 8.1 ( for partitioned databases) , but thought that they may have been included as part of a later fixpak ( most possibly 8.1.2).

This statement is included in the Release Notes for Version 8 Fixpak 2:

    - Support for IDENTITY columns in partitioned database environments

    Thanks for your responses.
Can you please tell me whether 'sequence' is supported in 8.1.2 ?
( I can get round my problem by using sequences instead of identity columns)
