Unanswered: relation of updating a table and logfile

    Hi All,
    I am working with db2 v7.2 fix pack 6 and AIX 5.2

I am trying to update a table with 10 mil records and updating will impact to 1.7 mil records

    my question is:
whole of table will transfer to logfile or just 1.7 mil records?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Just the 1.7 rows that are changed are logged. It would good if you could do intermediate commits. This can be specified on the import command. Intermediate commits every 100-1000 updates is a good commit interval.

If you don't perform intermediate commits, your log files may fill up.
