Unanswered: Incremental Data extration from Oracel DB

    Hi All,
I have to write a PL/SQL script which will extract incremental data from one oracle DB on a daily basis and put it in another oracle DB. One option that i have is to create date stamps in all the tables and then do a comparison between both the databases based on the dates. and then extract only that data which is not there in the target db. If i go this way then all the tables in my source db will have to be changed. moreover it will hamper the performance also.

Is there any other better way of doing this......pls let me know.

    Thanks,
    Amit

If you can create a db-link between the 2 databases, then you can use a MERGE statement, which will UPDATE altered rows and INSERT any new rows.
