    Unanswered: login as sys

    How to login as sys from command prompt.
    I used
    sqlplus sys/syspassword@SID
    It is not login in, can some one help me please.

    ensure your path is set properly ...

    set your default directory to Oracle\bin ... where sqlplus.exe is located
    and try from there ... ensure you oracle_sid is set ...
    If all variables are properly set, you shouldn't have a problem
    with

    sqlplus sys/password@instance ... also assuming you have the instance defined properly ... It almost appears as if "sqlplus" is not recognized

    If you´re using Oracle 9i make sure that you connect to the instance as sysdba.
    Sys connections without sysdba privilege are no longer allowed in 9i.

    So try using "sys/passwd@db as sysdba"
